The Brief
To produce a website that could not only follow a particular style but also be dynamic enough to represent the multiply genres the musicians and film-makers belonged to.
Have a section which allowed the audience and competitors have their voice heard but through a controlled manner.
Be able to to control the news page as the website would be the primary source of information for the audience and competitors.
Allow users to obtain application forms from the website
Have the winning music videos made available online.
The Solution and Special features
The style of the website conformed to the requested needs of arts stra
Ltd with the first webpage having the special feature of two controllable 3D rotational boxes. The boxes represent the different genres of the musicians and film-makers, you may recognise some of the fonts.
An open-source forum was used to let users of the website comment on their experiences and voice any thought. The forum had a administration area allowing posts that where not suitable to be deleted and users suspended or banned.
A Welford Media Content Management System (CMS) was installed allows the staff at arts stra Ltd to safely control the news page, with relative ease and no technical knowledge.
A download section was built allowing the entry forms to be downloaded in both pdf and .doc format.
The 3 winners of the 20-20-2Vision competition had their music videos put one the website, allowing the whole world to view them. The videos were compressed and streamed through quicktime media player (a free media player downloadable from the apple website).
Benefits
The 3D boxes added a novelty to the website, thereby catching the visitors interest and in turn increasing the length of time a visitor would stay on the website.
The open-source forum was chosen as it massively reduce the build time for the website and added very little additional cost. This again saved arts stra time and money, allowing them to concentrate on other areas.
The CMS meant that arts stra staff could control their own website, this allowed them to keep their website up to date, reduced the time and cost to update their website.
Enabling users to download the application forms online, reduced the time need for arts stra to managed the application process thereby allowing the staff to concentrate on other aspects of the competition. The varied format of the application form insured that there was no compatibility issues.
The streamed videos again added a new area of interest to the 20-20-2Vision website, enabling visitors to view the winning enters. As the music videos were compressed and stream it meant that visitors to the website could immediately start watching the videos, without having to wait until the videos downloaded.

arts stra Ltd Testimonial
Welford Media are one of the friendliest and most professional web design companies we have ever come across. Being an arts management company we knew that our 20-20-2 vision website had to accurately reflect the projects creative aspects but also the beliefs that started the idea. All the marketing material had to appeal to all our stakeholders. We are a community arts based company and its essential that all our materials are accessible and appeal to a wide audience, we still aim capture the innovative and original work that we produce through our marketing material. We are pleased to say this was clearly mirrored in Welford Media's work.
Welford Media rose to the challenge producing creative ideas that met our ideals perfectly. The 3 dimensional boxes on the intro page worked perfectly and the whole style of the website was just as we wanted, not corporate but more underground.
After the launch of the website we needed to update many areas of the site ourselves, so Welford Media seamlessly integrated their content management system onto our website, without altering any of the web design. The Welford Media Content Management system was exceptionally easy to use and made maintaining our website a job anyone could do especially with the What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) editor.
After the project was completed we wanted to have the movies available on our website, and again Welford Media service was second to none. The streamed movies were made available on our website with 24hours.
We found Welford Media a pleasure to work with in every aspect of the project, from the creative design and the after sales technical support to the print and turn around times.
We gladly recommend them to anyone wanting any type of website or internet presence and are planning to use them one all of our future projects.
