A website acting in a very similar way to ebay, providing uses with the ability to upload items, with reserve prices, by now prices, pictures descriptions, shipping details, payment methods and bidding method with account settings.
To appear high on search engines in order to attract a large number of visitors.
Have an integrated payment method and superior administration area allowing administrators to activate, delete, suspend, credit etc users.
Have an activation email and a news letter facility.
Produce the website on time and to budget.
The Solution and Special features
The website was built using a modified existing platform to reduce the time and cost of the built. All the features included in the brief were reproduced on the website with an extremely successful search engine optimisation results.
At its peak the Unilot website was listed in the number 1 position for Google, Yahoo!, MSN and Ask Jeves for the search term "student auction site".
Currently after over a year of no SEO the website is still positioned in the top five results for Google for the same term. Unfortunately Unilot was being used by none students and the database was cleared, the website is due for a re-launch in the new academic year.
The website was launched in time an one budget.
Unilot is also a multi-lingual website with options to view it in, English, German and Russian.
